Some history about San Diego

San Diego is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. 

In 1542 Juan Cabrillo claimed this area as the Spain area.

In 1821 San Diego became part of Mexico.

In 1848, the United States went to war against Mexico and after negotiations the Americans insisted that San Diego belongs to America and established the American border. 

In 1850, California was admitted to the United States. 

The original San Diego town was located on Presidio Hill close to old Town historic park.

During World War II in San Diego there was a lot of military and defense activities. At this time the population grew really fast and there were a lot of military manufacturers being built. When the war finished, the military was a major factor in the economy of San Diego. 

In the 1960s there was a decline in Downtown San Diego.
